Nun ist es offiziell. Peter Jackson ist durch die Unterzeichnung des Vertrags definitiv der Regisseur der beiden Hobbit-Filme, die im Winter 2012 und im Winter 2013 in die Kinos kommen.
Der Regisseur der Herr der Ringe-Trilogie war für den Großteil der Fans die Wunschbesetzung für den Posten des Regisseurs und wird aufgrund des Erfolgs der Trilogie und seiner Auszeichnungen (u.A. Oscar für die beste Regie) als "Meister des Fachs" gesehen.
